How to catch Red Banopper in Bugsnax
Once you enter the Boiling Bay area, you will see some trees in front of you that will shake a bit. This is the Red Banopper, and it jumps from tree to tree and won't fall off unless hit by something.
Hold L1 to open your toolbox, then use the right stick to select your Trip Shot. Deploy it with R2 and place it on the rocky area near the lava stream, which you can see in the image below.
You're going to want to aim for the long piece of wood that sits between two of the trees, lining it up perfectly where the red Banopper flies.
If you've got it right, the Banopper will snap into your Trip Shot and then drop to the ground, and all you need to do is climb up and grab it - no traps needed. Just make sure you catch it before time runs out; otherwise, it will return to the trees.
