Yakuza Like a Dragon brings a lot of new mechanics to the table, building on everything the series has offered in the past. This includes the ability to enhance your relationship with a variety of different characters, and if you're like many other players, you might be wondering: Is there romance in Yakuza as a dragon?
Well, after hours of trial and error, we have an answer for you.
Is Yakuza romantic like a dragon? Replied
Surprisingly, there is romance in Yakuza Like a Dragon.
As you progress through the game, you will come across several NPCs to talk to outside of their assigned tasks. These include characters like Sumire in Atelier Romance or Ririka in Hello Work. You'll know you've found one when the chat option appears below the option to open your store or service menu.
By selecting the Chat option, you can improve your relationship with them by giving them gifts. The gifts they want vary by character and can be found in shops, by donating items to Survive Barkeep or by finding items scattered around the world. Once you give them the gift they would enjoy, their level of romance with you will increase.
From there, you will need to increase some personality stats to reach new levels of romance with them and find out what other gifts they would like. After doing this several times, their romance level with you will be maximized, and you will be able to build a relationship with them, learn more about them, and earn different bonuses depending on who you choose.
Can you romanticize several characters at the same time?
Now before you ask, yes: you can woo multiple NPCs at once in Yakuza Like a Dragon. However, this is not recommended.
At some point, the NPCs will find out what you've been up to and break up with you, among other acts of revenge. You will then lose all the bonuses that come with the date and not re-roll them in the future.
