A New Year, A New CoD - This has been the case since 2005's Call of Duty 2, and this rule will continue to apply in 2020. Still, some things are different with this year's release. The Warzone demands its place in the CoD franchise, and the immediate predecessor title Modern Warfare from 2019 remains relevant.

The campaign, zombie mode, multiplayer, war zone - this is Cold War.

When does CoD Cold War start? The global release date is Friday, November 13, at 6:00 AM German time.

What modes are in the game? Here, the new CoD 2020 builds on the story campaign's usual combination, PvE mode, and multiplayer. However, Warzone will become part of the game; the integration should be completed on December 10.

What can the campaign do? The campaign sends you as CIA agents to locations around the world in the 1980s. 13 years after the first Black Ops events, the old gang of Mason, Hudson, Woods, and a new face meet Agent Adler full of scars. However, most of the time, you play an agent that you created yourself for the first time in a CoD campaign.

You are on the hunt for the ghost "Perseus," a Soviet spy whose existence is not considered safe for all members of the high level of military leadership in the United States. You are chasing this super-agent in the context of the Cold War around the world, and you stop at:

What can the Zombies cooperative do? With the Cold War, the crazy zombie mode returns to CoD, offering a great cooperative experience. You fight for your life together with your fellow players and try to unravel the zombie maps' secrets.

The mode brings its own rules, perks, and opponents, making the zombie excursion a unique experience. At first, there will probably be a zombie map (The Machine), and the scope will expand for free over time. Here you can find more information about the details of the zombie mode.

In zombie mode, you have to hunt nasty creatures and solve puzzles.

What's next in multiplayer? Here's the usual CoD experience, for which many players get the last bit. On different maps, you play for victory with different modes. There are new weapons, new maps, and an all-new points streak system with at least 21 great war machines to play for free during matches.

What will happen to Warzone? The Battle Royale will develop further over the years and will embody something like the link between CoD's annual titles.

New content relevant to the game should always be free and based on the current CoD settings. So you can use Cold War and Modern Warfare weapons if you have unlocked them and Cold War has been integrated into Warzone. A possible new map for Warzone is likely based more on the Cold War background.

Cold War builds more on the gameplay of the past.

The 2019 CoD, Modern Warfare, introduced some mechanics to the CoD universe that were previously quite atypical for a "realistic" CoD. Including, for example, the tactical sprint or weapon placement. The movement as a whole made an "extraordinary" impression. The Cold War is more rooted here. That was also DLPrivateServer author Maik Schneider's impression of the alpha phase on PlayStation 4.

The latest premium CoD, which can be better than the newer part, is CoD WW2 from 2017. That was realistic; there was no pronounced robotic technology here that equips soldiers with superhuman abilities even in multiplayer, as in some CoD -Titles that will be played in the future, for example, "Infinite Warfare" from 2016 or "Black Ops 4" from 2018 because Cold War can do without jetpacks or exoskeletons again.

Compared to CoD MW, CoD 2020 offers a number of innovations. There are now scoring streaks instead of kill streaks, the classic minimap, your soldiers, can swim, and gear compilation is a bit different. The popular gunsmith works very similar to CoD MW. Confirmed multiplayer content

The developers have yet to make a final statement on this. But through the CoD blog posts and open testing phases, we already know what will at least be included in the release version:

Well-proven multiplayer modes like Team Deathmatch or Domination
New modes such as VIP-Escort, 40vs40-Fireteam, or Combined Arms
The Prestige system is back

The first DLC has already been announced. On November 24 begins the cult map "Nuketown" with the new look of "Cold War." This little map should especially appeal to fans of CoD MW shipping, as it offers a similar amount of action in a small space.

That was the response from the public Alpha and beta phases for multiplayer.

The latest CoD has already been thoroughly tested thanks to some testing phases, but it had to take a lot of criticism here. This applies to the alpha and beta phases.

What was the problem with the Alpha? The first look at the Cold War was not well received by many players. Over and over again, the statement was heard: "It's a step backward compared to Modern Warfare." That was especially true for graphics in the PS4 exclusive alpha phase. Due to player feedback, the developers made some changes towards beta.

InafGo interviewed a lead Treyarch developer about the Alpha and Beta process, who explained how alpha feedback affected the beta and the entire game.

What went wrong with the beta? There were partly the same criticisms here as on the Alpha, but there were also connection difficulties. Many players saw some progress, especially with the graphics and animation, but some could not be enjoyed because the connection was not good.

The same thing happened to YouTubers and CoD experts "Drift0r" and "TheXclusiveAce." They both stopped their broadcast because they weren't having fun.

The beta mood image improved but remained quite negative for many players.

CoD Cold War combines with CoD Modern Warfare and Warzone.

In the future, Warzone will serve as the link between different premium CoD titles, so CoD MW will continue to be interesting for Warzone players as well. With the start of the first season on December 10, the progression systems for all 3 CoD titles will be connected, and it doesn't matter which CoD you play to increase your account level or the Battle Pass. In Battle Royale, you can access the content of CoD MW & Cold War. All the weapons you unlock in the Cold War are also available for Warzone and are specially adapted for Battle Royale. Over the next year, the weapons available in Verdansk could increase to more than 100.

The same goes for cosmetics. Warzone connects your purchased and unlocked items and lets you combine everything to your heart's content. However, you cannot use CoD MW cosmetics during the Cold War and vice versa. This only applies to Battle Royale Warzone. Multiplayer begins with the first season.

Black Ops Cold War has already shown a roadmap for the first season, which should be online on December 10. Many things happen in the new CoD in this time frame:

So if you're not sure if you really should buy the new CoD, wait a few weeks after launch. It really only starts with the beginning of the first season. By then, you will find many test reports and opinions on the Cold War that sharpen the shooter's image.

The roadmap basically shows that there is more to come.

The story of the Cold War takes place between Black Ops 1 and 2

It is especially exciting for the CoD: Cold War series combines the stories of Black Ops, Modern Warfare, and even CoD 5: World at War.

It's all about undercover operations, brainwashing, and of course, the damn numbers. Modern Warfare should fit this story as well, and in fact, might even get there, even if Captain Price still looks pretty new for his arithmetic age.
