Destiny 2 Beyond Light: What is the new Soft, Hard and Pinnacle Power Cap?
Destiny 2's latest expansion, Beyond Light, increases the power cap again, so players who have decided to return to claim weapons and rewards that are skipped with the update will have to level up again. Behold the New Power Soft, Hard, and Pinnacle caps for Destiny 2 Beyond Light.
New soft, hard, and pinnacle power cap in Destiny 2 Beyond Light
Destiny 2 has steadily increased the power cap with each new season, and it's no different with Season 12, Season of the Hunt, which kicks off in conjunction with the launch of the Beyond Light expansion. They are the new Power Soft, Hard, and Pinnacle caps for the twelfth season:
- Softcover: 1200
- Hardcover: 1250
- Pinnacle Cap: 1260
Returning players or new players need not worry about being left behind by such a high number, as developer Bungie has stated that all new players will start at 1050. Returning players will have their weapons and armor increased to 1050, while that any team above that number will remain unchanged.
For those who need a refresher, the Soft Cap can be achieved simply by playing and earning weapons and armor by completing various activities or the campaign. The Hard Cap can be achieved by earning powerful rewards that are guaranteed to increase potency while reaching the Pinnacle Cap requires Pinnacle rewards earned through very specific activities.
Bungie has made a small change with the new expansion that offers the opportunity to earn powerful rewards by playing Strikes, Gambit, Crucible, and Seasonal Drops up to Hard Cap.
The studio said it's quicker to complete the Powerful Sources Checklist each week, but the change allows players to move forward if they're only playing one or two modes.
